Autumn Bates was never ‘fine.’ When people would ask her, she would respond with a simple ‘okay,’ but nothing more. She was okay, but she certainly wasn’t fine, not at all. She felt neglected, ignored. She figured no one would miss her if she just vanished. Her parents would grieve, but would eventually get over it. She had figured people at school wouldn’t really even notice. She wasn’t popular, she wasn’t known; she was a wallflower. She was just that one dancer, the one with good grades and who always remained silent. The only person who would really miss her was her best friend, Jake Andrews. They had been attached at the hip ever since middle school, hardly ever leaving each other’s sides. Jake pretended like he didn’t notice Autumn changing, for her didn’t want to believe that she was. He was the only one who would be able to get to her, convince her to stay. But when Jake gets the chance to change Autumn’s mind, will he?
