After the sixteen-year-old Allie graduated high school in the middle of March, she went to Upland, California, USA to spend her three-month summer. There, her aunt insisted to enroll her to the near-by high school in their area to keep her occupied during her summer stay. She expected to meet some stereotypical cliques but much to her surprise; most of the students in Upland High are nice. Most, because there is a certain group of cheerleaders that are not that friendly and there is also the school’s dangerously quiet bad ass. And not to forget the super energetic and friendly handsome quarterback of the football team.

Allie came to America to spend her summer, not to find love because she doesn’t think long-distance relationships work. But of course, we can never control what we feel towards another person. So the unexpected happened to Allie even though she tries to avoid it. And That One Summer changed it all.

Have you ever met someone who alters the course of your life? For good or for bad, they've come in, given and taken, and then- BOOM! Your life was never the same. There's always a change, an altering of reality. When you meet those people, the reality that you've known your whole life is suddenly gone and a new one has taken its place. When those moments happen, there's no going back. You can try to return to the way things were but nothing, and I mean nothing, can take you back to exactly how it was. That's what happened to us. I think that's why we're still trying so desperately to get back to some sort of normalcy. Four years later and we're still on the ground, crawling, in search of the happiness that was lost that June. Summers will never be the same. Midnight walks through my neighborhood will never be the same. Field parties with bonfires and loud music will never be the same. I still don't know why you left and what lead you to the decision you made. What I do know is that we're here. We're alive and we're pushing forward to the future. A future that you're not a part of. But in some ways, I'm glad you're not a part of it. I just wish it wasn't like this. *** TRIGGER WARNING*** SA, abuse, suicide, substance abuse, and mental illness. This is a complete story that is much like life; fast, full of surprises, and not always how we want it to be. This has been a project of mine for over three years. It was self-published on Amazon, but after some issues in publication, I decided to just upload it on here. I hope you fall in love with these characters like I have. The friends in this story are trying to make names for themselves, figure out who they are, who they can trust, how to love, and how to separate themselves from a restrictive community. As in any coming of age story, they will experience growing pains... but will they survive them before its too late? PLEASE READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS.

21 parts Complete
Fourteen-year-old Edison Green may be a genius, but he doesn't have a clue about what to do on his first day of high school. After being homeschooled until age 9 and then starting college courses, Edison doesn't have any experience with kids his own age. His parents believe he has a rare gift and they don't want him to be distracted by the menial problems of teenagers; instead, they want him to focus on his research project, which could be the next big breakthrough in physics. Edison loves physics more than anything, but loneliness and curiosity about life outside his world cause him to rebel. He goes on strike, refusing to continue his studies until his parents agree to let him go to high school for one year. Edison isn't worried about high school being hard--after all, he's been invited to join Mensa International--an exclusive club for the top 2% of the world's smartest people. But he finds out quickly that it takes more than a high IQ to traverse the social events and activities at Southton High School. During an unfortunate encounter with the school's most popular athlete, Edison meets Christina Blakely, who saves him from getting pummeled on his first day of school. She is the exact opposite of him in every way. Christina is a soccer phenom who doesn't have time to be friends with lowly freshmen. She's got problems of her own, including a low GPA, which could prevent her from getting a college scholarship. Can Christina achieve the impossible-the highest GPA she's ever had--and earn her scholarship? And can Edison prove to his parents and everyone else-including Ashley Murray, the most beautiful girl he's ever seen-that he can do more than solve difficult math problems? Can he really change the world with his research project, win Ashley's heart and survive high school?

Dana and Cameron came from two totally different universes. Dana was the type of girl who sat in the corner of the classroom and didn't talk much. She was an outcast. After her mother's death when she was a little girl, she wasn't the same happy girl who watched Hannah Montana every morning. Cameron was famous. He was weird, funny, sweet, romantic, smart, and caring. He was perfect in everyone's eyes, but he wasn't exactly. Dana's life goes nowhere; in fact it goes to "hell." One day she is unexpectedly invited to go out to L.A for the summer to spend time with her twin brother Shawn Mendes. She couldn't believe how different everyone was there. It was like she discovered a new universe just south from her home in Canada. Everyone acted like mature, yet crazy fun and cool, teenagers. 99% of the time anyways. Dana mentally transforms into a new person as the new people she meets changes her view on life. And most important this new transition involved a boy, Cameron, nobody saw it coming. The problem was, Dana was done with guys after her brake up with, who she thought was, the love of her life. "Guys are dicks." Along with another admirer, an enemy from her past, and being tricked, Dana still has the most amazing time of her life with all the people she loves. All good things must come to an end.
