Prologue: London. A calm Christmas Eve. Two years ago. Wendy slept peacefully next to her twin sister, Lillian. Her younger brothers asleep across the room. She turns over, to find the bed empty and colder than before. One eye pops open to look towards the window. There her sister stands, frozen with a boy a little older than her. He covers her mouth with his calloused hand as tears stream down her face in tiny waterfalls. Lillian's dirty blonde hair is throw to one side, away from the boy's face. And Wendy would never forget his face. Blue eyes that pierced her soul, and a long scar running from his right temple, across the bridge of his nose and to his right jawline. And as fast as he had stolen Lillian from her bed, he took her from the window and flew out into the cold night. Wendy ran to the window to watch the boy and her sister fly far far into the sky until they became just a speck, flying to the second star to the right of the North Star.
