Edith Wells, the "weird orphan girl" of the rebellious, unknown humans that regular people consider vampires. She stays strong through bullying, heartbreak, and deception. She will soon find herself fighting for what her parents died trying to win.
Rosalind Garuci, also known as "Roo" is also a so called vampire. Edith's best friend. Here's the catch: she vomits up all blood she drinks on purpose so she won't turn into a monster like everyone else she knows. In turn she puts herself and everyone she loves in danger.
They were born in this harsh and murderous society. Killing the innocent, living amongst the guilty. Many hate it, but are helpless and have no choice of the matter. They want out. They want to be normal. Human. But the only way out is death.

While Julia is broken between a new found hate of werewolves and fond memories of Loup and Jonathan. A tension grows as the werewolves find out about the truth whether the Guardians still live.
