Picture from - www.map-of-australia.us Poetry by me... Celebrating Australia in a new way... My own portrait of Australia... Where my queries are amalgamated with reality and a possible future... Plus some historical fiction of its past and present triumphs as well as its past atrocities. Oh and I can't mention Australia without mentioning its glorious wildlife... Here is a sample poem - I hope you enjoy - David Hurt's - Australia: The Rose of Eternal Youth A petal for peace, A petal for love, A petal that embraces the individual, A petal for kith, A petal for kin. A petal for innovation A petal for creativity, A petal for imagination, A petal for inventiveness, A petal for reason. A petal for discovery, A petal for adventure, A petal for pleasure, A petal for fun. A petal for you, A petal for me, A petal for the old, A petal for the young, A petal for our ancestors, A petal for our descendants, A petal for the unfortunate, A petal for equality, A petal for all. A petal for the past, A petal for the present, A petal for the future, A petal for eternity, A petal for the unknown. A petal for a rose, The rose of eternal youth. Thank you and I hope you enjoy the rest...

Centuries ago this was a great planet, now it's a husky shadow of its former beauty. Though the remnants of its former magic still linger it was destroyed by power hungry scientists. More tests to make more technology to go further, faster more this more that. Boom It all went up in flames, radiation spilled out into South America from the global power station in Brazil. The nuclear plant 15 times that of Chernobyl blew its top. The initial explosion flattened Brazil and the shockwaves were felt from the Florida keys. But the thing that truly ruined the world was the nuclear fallout. it rained down everywhere turning the world into a desolate wasteland deserts for miles and miles. Now you live in districts to survive, but what's the good in just being a number. Why would you look forward to a future of infant nothing, can you run from that? Where would you go? Where have the people who have escaped gone? Is that a future? What if there's someone who got left behind? After the first five chapters all chapters are 1000+ words, so no itty bitty update chapters. Ongoing-regular updates
