Wingless

A dark cavern fills with laughter and screaming as the full moon rises. It's beautiful rays of light fall into the cell full of the sounds as movement descends on a frail creature. Her longs pale legs shine brightly in the dark cell and her hair gleams gold in the light. She's huddled in the darkest corner, fearing the evil lurking in the corner.

But that's not what's beautiful about her. What's breath taking is her protection. Encased around her sitting figure is a set of wings. Long and white. Well, not purely white. Missing feathers stray around the room and blood drips down her wings where she has been beaten. Her body shakes with fright as the black figure emerges from the dark.

"Have you had enough, baby doll?" The rough voice speaks harshly to the girl. Complete silence reigns after he speaks. "Speak. Now." He growls inhumanly. A pair of bright blue eyes that shine, defiantly look up into the fire raging into the monster's eyes.

"I will never betray my God," she snarls. A piercing shriek emits out of the creature's mouth as he races forward to grab the girl's long hair and pull her up to his face.

"If God truly cared about you he would have protected you from me," he spits in her face. A tear escapes the girl's eye as she fights to shake her head.

"No... No you're wrong. I trust what God is doing. If he wishes for me to be captured by Satan's brethren, so be it. His will is best," she replies back, shakily. The black creature of the night encases her body with his as he pushes her against the wall. As he does so, the girl's wings spread out against the wall showing off it's full glory.

"Not a very nice God is he then," he says. Then he leans down to reach her left ear and whispers, "that's why I left Heaven. Because, for once, I wanted to be in control. It's absolutely thrilling. Join me Xanthe. Renounce God and become like me, a demon."
