The effect of the plague was something no one could calculate for. Power. Things that had been but fairytales for hundreds of years happened. The kids DNA has mutated, giving them remarkable abilities. Such things like telekinesis, energy emission, enhanced senses, invulnerability and much more. 

Ryker Apex is a unique 18 year old boy. He is the leader of The Damnation, a rebel group striving for the fall of the government and their own army,  Syndicate. Ryker has opposed them since they took away his family, all but his little sister he made sure survived.

First started in 2015, this story is at 50k+ words, but was removed when a plotting hiccup was encountered. I now intend to split it into three parts, and this is the complete Part 1. Human beings have evolved to use more than 10% of their brain, and as an effect, possess supernatural powers. Luna and Lara Valkyrie grew up in a foster home in the town of Westhaven, California. Both 18 and having been born on the same day, they were raised as twins, Luna adopting Lara's surname because of her own being unknown. Westhaven is a lovely town, the perfect place to live the american dream in. There is only one problem. Not only there, but in almost every place in the world, human beings are branded with a number, that being the amount of supernatural abilities they possess. By the time each child reaches the age of 18, that number becomes permanent, and everyone with a ranking above 5 is taken away. From that moment on, they belong to the government, and must train in government facilities that are a lot like prisons or army bases. Their eyes are changed by machines, and they are identified for the bright aura-like color that surrounds their pupils and contrasts against their natural eye color, "the sunflower effect". This is the story as they try to keep their biggest darkest secret of what they are capable of and as they discover they're not the only ones like them... I am not very good at trigger warnings before individual chapters but there is mention of blood, cold abuse and parents divorcing. (But read at your own risk in case I mention something else. They constructed a singular civilization encased in a wall for protection from outside forces, built on the hope to reproduce and thrive with the life they were forced into. Zykard would be the start of a second life for humans But within that time of rebirth some of the survivors surged with horrors of Pre-Reearth. Heresy, treachery, riots, thefts, murders and revolutions. A need to for order was introduced, and brought about the leader of Zykard and seven factions of ten people. A thousand years later theres a change. An outsider appears and seemingly becomes the new leader of Zykard, bringing more hardships with their hopes. Crimson, a seventeen year old girl faces the verge of adulthood. The final trials being the only gap between her new reality. A new injection to be given to everyone after the trials. She will face the ugly second face of what Zykard really is behind the curtains. Face pain she never thought would be possible and lose what she loves the most. She will understand what it's like to become apart of the Zykard.
