"How was that even possible? He hated the very sight of me. I was just a bad taste in his mouth, how could he say that? And to say it to them. Why risk everything for my life? It didn't make sense... Yet there we were, his face bloodied and bruised and my hair locked in some other man's grip, looking across the room at each other in the deadest of silences as we waited to hear what judgment his confession would bring upon us." The war is an impossible maze, an inescapable labyrinth of lies. How had Kaye gone on for so long in such blindness? How did she not know? When she learns that everything she once knew is a distortion of the truth, Kaye is faced with the most difficult decision she will ever make: retreat back into the darkness, or stand up and fight. With the aid of a group of misfit Resistance rebels, the leader being a terrifying, infamous vigilante, Kaye sets out on a journey to learn the true meaning of love and ultimate sacrifice.
