"I'll see you later hunny! Your dad should be home soon!" and that was the last time I ever saw my mother again. I was 15 when I last heard her utter those words. She was running late for work and wasn't looking as she pulled out of the drive way.
I saw the whole thing.
Late at night, I can still hear the sound of metal screeching against metal. My screams of terror mixed with my moms screams of agony.
Nothing's been the same ever since she left me. My dad blamed me for my mother dying. He said that I was the reason she was running late and he was right. I had asked my mother to braid my hair this certain way because it was picture day. If only I had just worn it out, maybe Mom could protect me from my Dad.
As my punishment for killing Mom, my Dad comes home almost every night drunk and hits me.
It's been 3 years and I have told no one.
