Nico di Angelo is finally happy. He's learning to accept himself for his sexuality and as a son of Hades. After everything horrible that has happened to him, he's slowly getting better with the help of Will and his friends. Will Solace finally got the boy of his dreams. The boy he had a crush on since he was 11 years old. He's starting to realize that he isn't as useless as he thinks he is, and that he's actually worth something. Everything is going great for a while. But just like it always is for demigods, nothing good ever lasts. The death of Nico's first and closest friend Jason Grace puts a sudden end to the sunshine that currently brightens Nico's life for once. His death triggers a lot of things for him, and shines light on a lot of his unresolved trauma. Will Nico be able to make it through this without his mental stability completely breaking once and for all? Will Nico be able to let people in enough to help him get through it? And what about the mysterious dreams that Nico keeps having of his mom? And who really is this little girl that knows nothing about her past? In this sequel to Out of the Shadows, Nico sees familiar faces and revisits past places, but at least this time he has Will along for the ride. I am lying down in the class room bleeding; but no one pays attention to me. I gasp for air and try to speak so someone can look down to me. Nothing comes out I try to move but no one pays attention they just stare straight ahead paying attention to the lecture at hand. All is well and good before Will Solace joins their bubble. Nico gets a strange, tingly, ticklish feeling in his stomach when he's around Will. It doesn't help when they have to pair off to explore the Parthenon and Percy and Jason take off, leaving Nico alone with Will. It also doesn't help when the two boys decide to share a bed at the hotels. I brushed my teeth while putting my things into my back pack and kissed my mother in a a family photo before darting out the front door, and spitting both my toothbrush and the left over bubbles in my mouth onto the grass, I'd have to pick it up later. I ran out to the mail box and waved good by to my horse Smokey's small grave stone, reaching the bus just in time. My day went by as usual. I barely got through most of my classes staying dead silent through out. People would try to interact with me but all I could do was grunt at them. If only I could actually say "Speech Impediment" maybe they would stop talking about me. Some how the usual group of jerks found out I was gay and told everyone. This life sucks. I got into fifth period and Mr. Schmidt looked at me. I froze, Oh hell no. I started to shake as he told me to read. I know he had a speech impediment too, but it was embarrassing to turn down such a request. "Read the next two pages" such an easy sounding task is it not?..... He stepped to me and I froze. Did I mention that my language arts teach was the most beautiful man on earth and his pink collard shirt was clingy?! I guess not. I wound up turning beet red and squeaking a bit before he tapped my desk and looked at me.
