Summoner of the Empire

Arish, a runt of a girl with hair as white as chalk, is shunned amidst the throng of her eleven half-brothers and sisters who all share the same warm skin and ebony hair as their mother.

Practically as lowly as the waifs that serve her family; Arish can only find solace in her father's musty library, where she spends most of her days lost in the history of her country, Valkmire. One day, however; she finds herself stumbling upon a beat-up book, tarnished page with strange inscriptions inscribed upon it. When she reads it aloud, she has suddenly summoned a strange creature she has never read about before.

When her father finds out, she and her beast are sent to a the outskirts of her country; to a school in which people fly on the backs of creatures and battle each other in fierce fights between daemons. Suddenly Arish feels accepted, powerful, and worthy.

But soon chaos disrupts Arish's happiness as students suddenly die or go missing...
And all the evidence is pointing towards Arish.
