Julianna grew up in a foster home, mocked and shunned for her early childhood obsession with imaginary friends. At 15, she discovers a man is looking to adopt her. Terrified and mentally ill, she decides her only option is to run away. To escape.
The next day, she wakes up on some dirty trail leading to what seems to be a circus. What does she find? Those imaginary friends she abandoned years ago. Except, they are real. They are all real kids like her who were suffering, so they escaped to the Lost Circus. Run by the mysterious Ringmaster, the kids enjoy their mostly worry-free life. Their only worry is avoiding the ghastly Nicole, a woman who for reasons unknown to them wishes to take them away from the circus. However, upon Julianna's arrival, this paradise begins to fall apart and our protagonist must discover the origin of this bizarre world and what parts of it are real. A fat rat scurried across my path, damn thing scared the sh*t out of me. My heart pounding I looked down watching for the rat as I left the alley and not paying attention to my surroundings. I walked straight into someone. Mumbling my apologies while I step to the left of him. He stepped with me. Excusing myself I tried to move to the right of him, he followed me again.
