It was like Hayley was haunted. Followed by her past and superstitions. That was why it was so relieving as she leaned off the edge: almost falling. Until someone pulled her back. She didn't even realize she was leaning forward. That was what made the quarry so special. Because every time that Hayley was near the quarry she felt as though it was sucking her in. She didn't fall before. But I let her fall, because this time she would be free of everything. "Everything was blurred with white. The wind blew, pulling and pushing and spilling out their insides and making it their outsides. The snow underneath her cracked, crumbled, and then everything disappeared." Based off the best seller 'The Impossible Knife Of Memory.'

There was one girl to go before me. A new girl, she had almost waist length, very dark brown hair and big, vulnerable green eyes. Very pretty. She picked up her book. She opened her mouth but no sound came out, everyone waited for a couple of seconds but still, nothing. She ran her fingers through the end of her hair and closed her mouth. Nobody said anything. Franny-Ruth. The most amazing girl I've ever known, she was afraid... Of everything. Not to mention both of our family issues. The story isn't smooth, she also helped me escape Bryce and his dangerous gang. I wasn't picked on by them. I was part of them.
