They say that when you are about to die all the precious moments of your life flash before your eyes, that you wish to say goodbye to all those you loved. That's what happened to me, the first time, except the only difference was I wasn't dying, not even in the slightest. I was very much alive and could feel everything he was doing to me.
For Auburn, self-harm and ignoring her parents are just another normal day. After all, her life did fall apart once she turned 11 and was raped by her older brother's best friend, Chad. As Auburn starts her sophomore year at a new high school she struggles to evade her suicidal thoughts and ends up befriending a charming jerk named Jack who introduces her to new friends and drugs. But is Jack a friend or foe? As their  friendship develops, Auburn is confronted by her past and finds herself turning to other people for comfort such as her wacky peer, Charlie. But is Charlie someone safe to turn to? And why does she simultaneously hate her, but feel the need to receive her approval? Can Auburn relinquish her demons or will she become a suicidal tragedy? "Auburn" is the story of an angsty adolescent victim overcoming her past.
