22 year old Drew Donovan has just graduated college, and decides after a five year hiatus that she will spend the summer in Blue Isle Beach, the quaint beach town where she spent her first 17 summers.
No one, including herself, expected her to come back. Not after what happened all those years ago. Not after Lucas Carroll broke her heart. And certainly not after her lost pregnancy. She is an outcast to everyone except her best friend who loves her regardless of what happened and the newcomer family that knows nothing of her past.
