The Thief of Midnight

Alice "Fairy Lights" Fray has been living with her older brother Michael at the Fairview Institute for three years. The residents of the Fairview are no ordinary people, though. They are called 'abnormals', people who are different than the rest of society. They have been born with special powers, and are not fully in control of them yet. Their headmaster, Professor Elliot, has many friends in many high places. One day, one of these such friends asks for the assistance of his students. But the good Professor will not allow it. Alice, her brother, and her best friend Fiona are suddenly kidnapped from the institute, and are catapulted into the city of Venice.
The trio are confronted with an odd problem: every Tuesday, at the stroke of midnight, someone manages to steal money and priceless antiques from multiple shops all at once, even ones in the most public of places. But that isn't all: the thief somehow steals the precious things in under a minute, before the start of midnight even ends!
Plunged into the city of lights, they will have to deal with high-speed chases, death-defying situations, and much, much more. But the greatest question of all must be answered: Who is the Thief of Midnight?
