The closest I've gotten to contacting him is through the letter to tell him about my mother's condition, and the responding letter telling me he'll pay for treatment.  No one likes me but you. And you have so many friends, you don't need me. When life is hard, sometimes you need to give up." 
    "Percy," Annabeth said, " you've got it wrong. When life is hard you have to keep going. You'll never get anywhere in life if you focus on the bad. Look, I need you. Don't go anywhere. I won't allow you too."
    "Fine. I'll keep going. But only for you. It's all for you."
