I looked down at the girl. She was panting. Her eyes kept focusing and unfocusing. The driver of the car leaped out of his seat and ran to her side. He shook her, sobbing and crying out in despair. Blood spread on the asphalt under my feet. Her gaze was fixed on me. She knew I was there. She blinked, trying to get a better look. The boy couldn't get her to respond. Her heartbeat resonated in my head, the sound of blood running in her veins gave me a headache. I took my hood off. Her eyes widened. I saw all light vanish from them. The noise stopped. Only the throbbing headache was left. I watched her body relax. The boy was howling. Police had arrived. The ambulance was stopping right next to us. They picked her up. I looked down and followed them into the vehicle. They didn't see me. They didn't hear me. But they felt me. They knew the smell of death far too well. I placed my hand on the girl's chest. Warmth radiated over that only part of her dead cold body. I slowly took it off and a light yellow sphere came out of her mouth. I cought it in mid air and brought it close to my face. Images flashed in my mind. I am trained to choose. I was born to choose. I closed my eyes and raised my hand to the cealing, not letting go of the warm soul. It was beating, warming up my fingers. "Caelum" I whispered in Latin. I watched the sphere fight to escape my grap. It flew up and disappeared into the harsh surface of the ambulance. But I knew. I knew it kept going up after that. It flew and flew, up, and up, higher and higher. When it arrived, a sweet yet burning feeling appeared in my gut. I recognised it. Heaven.
