Mur'ring walked to the back of the cell and moved a cement block from the wall. He pulled out a bottle of clear liquid. "I was saving this for a special occasion, but given the situation I guess-" "Will you shut the fuck up and help him?!" Mur'ring poured the liquid on the wound. Ra'dok yelled. A guard smacked the door. "Shut the hell up in there!" Mur'ring wrapped some cloth around the wound and Ra'dok stopped bleeding. He let Ra'dok take a few sips of the liquid, which made him gag but sedated him. After a while we all fell asleep. I know it looks like this story is about Japan but it's not. The Lands of the Rising Sun are referring to the East Coast of the United States of America. Set in a post apocalyptic world. Ma'tuk, Ra'dok and Mur'ring are three slaves that share a cell and work in the mining fields. They discover a secret and set in motion a series of events to jailbreak the slaves. The story is told in two parts. The second part follows a team of bounty hunters that find a valuable man and must nurse him back to health. In order to see a doctor they must embark on a mission to gain access to the doctor. This wonderful adventure is very graphic and explores aspects of the mind in terms of spirituality, the human condition and the fate of man.

Moonlight glinted off of the sharp tip of the knife. It was clothed in the blackness of her dried blood. The cloaked figure curled his lips as he wiped the knife off using his jacket. Tonight he would be praised. Tonight he would be honored for his kill. She was on the top of the society's list. He didn't know why and frankly he didn't care as long as he got his pay. He sheathed his knife and took the girls' bloodied wrists in his hands. He dragged her into the open casket and locked it shut. As the midnight clouds began to cry tears, he shoveled dirt into the small hole where the casket lay. He threw the shovel and his blood covered gloves in the muddy duffel bag. Walking over the bridge he found various large rocks and shoved them in the bag, making it almost too heavy for him to carry. His dark, dangerous eyes gleamed as he threw the bag into the river and watched it sink into darkness.
