Anastasia Vilhjalmsson is desperate to fit in her new life in New York. Ever since she's moved there from Iceland, she's made two friends and plenty of other acquaintances, which is pretty cool in her book.

Then, it all changes when she starts seeing this confusing message everywhere; "Turn the lights off." She dismisses it the first time, but after that, she gets more and more curious. What's going on?

Then, she finds an extremely old looking book. The title is the message that's been haunting her for the past few days, Turn The Lights Off. 

She buys it and starts reading it , noticing that the messages have stopped.

Then, a glow comes from under her bed, and she's pulled into a world that she never believed in and there's no chance of going back.

What will she do when danger approaches while Anastasia is still adjusting to her new world?

Done with feeling rejected and alone, Annie decides it's time to find a way out. As she tries to find her way out, she starts to learn more about the curse and its people. She also starts to realize maybe the king is not as big of a monster as she thought. Even though most of Greyson is beautiful, something evil is lurking. Hopefully they learn about the threat before it is too late. This is a darker, steamier version of Beauty and the Beast. Strong sexual content, not suitable for anyone under 18.

Before It Happens by adrienbrody

Completed for NaNoWriMo, this story follows a twenty-something-year-old freelance reporter named Ash Pa'krou and his ragtag news crew as they go on a quest to discover exactly what lies behind the strange Unity law firm. Unfortunately, this book will remain indefinitely unfinished. My computer broke earlier this year, and along with a bunch of other important data, I lost the ending of this book. While I can place a summary below, I am unfortunately incapable of bringing myself to rewrite the story. ---- spoilers ---- The book ends with Ash realizing that he is of witch descent. Seraph takes him and Killian hostage. After she makes an attempt at their life, Oswald and Christopher come for them. Christopher is killed in the chaos, and Ash realizes he has no choice but to leave Seraph alive in order to maintain the peace between Nueva and Marn. He returns back to the mainland and discovers that while he had achieved something that belonged in history books, none of them would ever receive credit for it due to corrupted footage. Their plan to become a real news team falls apart, and each of them go their separate ways. Ash realizes that he has fallen for Killian, but, knowing that Killian is straight, decides instead to help Killian find happiness. Oswald and Ash remain good friends, but they realize that they will never be the same people they were Before it Happened.

My 2008 NANOWRIMO project: The Gray is a 'low' fantasy novel in spite of dragons and magic and horror. Giant spells won't be saving the day, and there's no mighty magic swords, in fact most spells aren't even out there in your face, they're implied. The Gray is set in a lone human city in a world where being human is stranger and and less common than being an elf, or almost anything else. Their community is Isolated, and protected by a a group of trained fighters and scouts with specific roles, who give up their own names when they take on The Gray. Walker, one of the scouts of The Gray, accidentally stumbles across signs that their way of life, and maybe even the world, may be threatened, and is quickly forced to face the fact that trying to save his home and people may require loosing them forever.

Alex is a 16 year old girl that lives in a small village in the United states of America. Together with her best friend Tyler she faces challenges no normal teenager should ever face. "I knew I was different when I was little, I knew being a werewolf wasn't normal!" The code she made when she was little was to protect her town but that proves to be hard when your dad isn't supernatural and you don't where the hell your werewolf mother went. It also doesn't really help that when she finally makes friends at school they are forced to help Alex as one of them get's bitten by an unknown alpha. What makes matters even worse is that human friend Ben is absolutely terrified of Tyler and Tyler can not stand the sight of Ben. When things finally seem to go back to normal it all blows up in their face one more time, this time the explosion is so big people die and Alex is forced to kill. Will she be able to ever become a normal teenganger again, especially after meeting so many people and seeing so many of them die one by one in front of her eyes. Will she ever be able to get the image of killing out of her head. And will this all ever even stop?! Or is she going to have to be scared for her life for as long as she lives! An ordinary 14-year-old girl, Violet, plays truth or dare with her friends and is dared to go through the forest behind her backyard. She gets lost and finds a sort of gate that leads to a world full of monsters and creatures and falls through, fainting at when knights and warriors come. She wakes back up in a castle dungeon and is soon let out when she tells the king who she is and is deemed trustworthy. As she overhears a conversation that a war has been declared and that the evil king has declared war for power and land, Violet says that she'll go over and try to defeat the evil king, just so she can earn peoples' trust.
