When 16 year old Haymitch Abernathy is selected to compete in the 50th Hunger Games, he expected to die. What he didn't count on was worrying about the death of others.
When Haymitch decides to ally himself with the other District 12 tributes, he finds friends in the one place you cannot make them. And even worse, he finds himself falling deeply in love-even though for one to survive the other must die.

The Hunger Games Second Quarter Quell. North Star

32 parts Complete

YOU NEVER REALLY LEAVE THE ARENA... "That’s the North Star, Haymitch.” My father said. “If you can find that you will always find your way home.” The 50th Hunger Games are here. The Second Quarter Quell. This time 48 tributes must enter the arena, including a 16 year old Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch is fighting to get home to his family, friends and Isabel. However he knows between him are 47 other kids desperate to get home. When Haymitch becomes close to two other tributes he realises he has a problem, their survival means his death. But even if Haymitch survives the arena he will soon realise that life as a District 12 victor is not all it's cracked up to be. Especially if you get on the wrong side of the Capitol; that can lead to all sorts of trouble...
