"What is all this?" Jason asks the second the lady walks away. "Why are you saying we're sons of gods?"
Charlie gets up off of the chair and sits on the edge of the bed. She places her hand on my leg and looks at the two of us. She sighs, looking stressed. "Because you are."
I stare at Charlie, not really believing her. I mean, that's not something you just believe. Sons of gods? I can't believe that. This whole thing makes no sense to me whatsoever. I don't know what's this place is or how it's in my school, but it still doesn't prove what Charlie's telling us. I'm not the son of a god.
Jason, on the other hand, looks like he actually believes Charlie. Maybe it's because of the dream he had last night. Didn't he say that in his dream we were both the sons of gods? Poseidon and Hades? I think they're their names. How could Charlie know about his dream?
"So the demigods we're learning about in English-" Jason starts, but Charlie interrupts.
"Are real, yes," she tells. "But that's not what we are."
I don't even know what demigods are. Obviously Jason does or else he wouldn't have started to talk to Charlie about them. "Then what are we?"
