Homo - sapien is no longer the dominant specie on Planet Earth. Homo - luden; a specie much like homo - sapien, yet more than human has arrived in addition to Artificial Intelligence. A new era has begun. As homo - luden and Artificial Intelligence manifest themselves on the Planet, the current civilization must adopt and change, assimilating those that seem God - like. Planet Earth must adopt and change to this new reality at work. Cosmic Journeys is divided into 4 short stories, following the lives of human beings who experience this new paradigm at play.

A nuclear explosion wipes out a small town in Indiana, which either kills, or rewrites the cells of anyone caught in it's range. Some people weren't able to handle it's affects, others have been changed. Everyone who survived was given a supernatural ability. Hallie Osborn was affected by the explosion, and was one of the few people her age who survived, and is taken into a hospital of sorts for people like her. Finn doesn't remember anything outside of the hospital, the first thing he could remember was the chemical tank. He's not sure why he's put in there so often, but isn't allowed to ask many questions. He's eventually introduced to the rest of the gifted, he explains to Hallie his time in isolation, not understanding how important he's become.
