My name is Kelly Brookes. I am sixteen years old. I have amazing blonde hair, big pouty lips and mascara to die for. I own every Hunger games book and movie that has been made. My bestie is an angry female cat called fluffy.
And if I were in the Hunger games, I would die.
I am the biggest fan of the franchise ever. Katniss is my spirit animal. But fighting, surviving, cooking and crawling through mud to find a tree to sleep in? Not really my thing. I'm happy sitting on the sofa and leaving that stuff to Katniss and Peeta.
Or so I thought...
Apparently the universe thought it would be a great idea to strike me with lightning and transport me right into Panem, District 12, just in time for the name Kelly Brookes to be selected for the games instead of Katniss.
One thing's for sure. The Capitol is gonna have their shit handed to 'em on a silver plate because they ain't seen nothing like me yet.

When I was eleven. My whole world changed. Katniss' dad died in a mining accident. You think it wouldn't affect me but I loved him just as much as Katniss did. Maybe even more than I loved my own father. I felt bad, that my own dad couldn't compare to Katniss'. He loved me too though. Loved me like his own. The day he died was the first in a long line of times I have ever seen Katniss cry. She never cried before then but she cried a lot after. Katniss' mother was suppose to get a job after his passing, she didn't. They were starving, dying. I decided to help. After school I would drag Katniss into the woods by her feet. We'd never gone in there without her father. It seemed like a scarier place without him. After some time it wasn't so scary. I don't know what made me volunteer for Katniss.
