Erik Peterson is Randall High's favorite jock and biggest asshole. After he pulls a cruel prank on Keith Jones, a student who has recently tried to commit suicide, the principal decides to take matters into his own hands and send both of them to rehab. With his football and academic career on the line, Erik has no other choice than to involuntarily embrace rehab over expulsion. At the Florence Rehab Center he soon realizes however, that those he considers freaks - are actually more relatable to him than he might like to think.
Now, almost 20 years later, Erik Peterson must revisit his past after his students find out about his stay at the Florence Rehab Center. He decides, on a whim, to stop teaching his students about american history and instead focus on teaching them about the importance of friendship, mental health and life. As he does this, he begins to wonder if perhaps destiny, God or whoever is in charge, has given him a chance to make up for his mistakes - and perhaps this time: actually save a life.
*Hey You :)! I just want to clarify a couple of things before you decide to read my story :
1. Relatable Freaks (RF) is a story that HAS constant flashbacks (You guys will be able to identify these easily because they will always be indented.)
2. I will not be providing physical descriptions for any of my characters. Why? Because a) I want you to focus on all of their individual attitudes and interactions, AND b) in case you guys want to imagine them a certain way- it will be up to your perception :).
3. Although there are 25 students in the classroom, the focus will be on 5 students in particular and during the flashbacks, there will also be a focus on 5 other individuals. In total, RF focuses on 11 characters and as I mentioned earlier - I want you to focus on all of their individual attitudes and interactions. (For example: notice how each student refers to Erik Peterson as a teacher.)
If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know :)!
