People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them,
"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."
And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.

I recall how my sister and I used to recite a little poem together as we gazed up at the big, star-studded, Kansas night sky together. "Star, light, star bright, First star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, Have this wish I wish tonight" She used to tickle me until I would tell her what I had wished for. You know what? God heard my boyish wish upon a star and granted me a life filled with adventure. If you ask me why He chose to grant my wish, I'd say it was so that I could share my adventures with others. Now, you may expect that, as Mark Twain said, my stories have at least an element of truth, but that I've added a lot of color - truth be told, they are more flavor than fact. I expect that my brother is right when he says that I've added so much color so as to make the stories mostly fiction. I hope you can tolerate this.Terminé

A Spinoff From the Grace Series I skim my fingers along my woman's arm as she reclines back, seated in my lap with her back resting against the cushioned arm of the wooden bench we worked on together. I built it and she painted it. And each one of our kids put their handprints on it. My darling sewed cushions to tie on during the warm days so we can sit out here comfortably. Now we enjoy the fruits of our labor together. And I'm speaking about the couch and our marriage. "How did we start?" she asks languidly, her eyes shut. Her coily hair frames her face in the afro she has it in. She's dolled up a bit with her dress and earrings. She's got nowhere to go, but she does it to feel perked up for the day. I'm fine with that, but she knows I'm just as fine if she's wearing one of those old nightgowns she has, or in her birthday suit. "You were always passing me by," I hold Kemi's hand and with my other one, I use my finger to trace her facial features. I love every one of them. I gently go over her brows then go to her cheeks that are a lovely rounded shape. I move onto her cheekbones, which sit a bit high. My finger trails down to her jaw and her lips as they curve up in a smile. "But to be fair, I passed you by as well, darlin'." The way we met, and the way we began, is all part of a story that is beyond us and I like to think back on it often. I like to think back on how the Lord made something new out of something broken. ~~~ This technically comes after Grace but can be read alone (and before or after Redemption). As with "Grace", this is an age-gap interracial romance about faith, love, and healing. Forewarning: This story discusses a darker theme that may not be suitable for a younger audience. Although, things are still done in a God-honoring way. Unlike Grace, this story is more of a short story and will likely contain less than 25 chapters. The government took over completely but was quickly overrun by robots that they had created to enforce the newly created laws. As the robots continued to make more of themselves and become powerful, kids were mainly targeted as they were seen as bad to the mechanical monstrosity that was ruining the city. A teenager tried to keep most of the kids safe and hid them well, making sure they were safe with mothers and fathers who had already suffered losses of their own children being taken and enslaved. At the start of the government taking over, a group of people was forced out of the city due to their ignorance, according to the government that is. It became a comforting story to the scared kids that they'll come back and save them, told by the teenager who risks his life to save them. One day, the teenager that was saving the kids suddenly goes missing after a night.Terminé
Adesewa the pregnant corper
After the 3 weeks orientation program of the NYSC, I was posted to a secondary school at Oyan for the one year service. I was given a room on the school compound at the Corpers' quarters. On getting to On getting to Oyan, I started looking for a Pentecostal church where I could be worshipping, and soon I was able to find one. Shortly after I started worshipping in the church, I joined the choir. Fortunately, it was at the time when the choir leader just left the church, and there was nobody to coordinate the members. Before I knew it, I was made the choir leader after being interviewed by the pastor, Pastor Williams. I was loved by everybody in the church, especially the choristers, because of my unique voice. Whenever I sing or lead a song, the whole congregation has a way of murmuring "Huuuuunnnnn!" with a sigh of satisfaction when they hear my voice. Most of the choir members were younger than me, so they call me "aunty" or "Sister Sewa". One of them was Bode, who used to play keyboard for us in the church. He was so gifted when it comes to instruments; there was no instrument he couldn't play. I always felt the presence of God whenever he was on the keyboard. I was named Adesewa after my late grandmother, who passed away shortly before I was born. My dad loved his mum so much, and hence transferred the love to me, believing that his late mother was the one who came back, more so, according to him, I was the mama's carbon copy. It was after he became saved, that he knew he was wrong. My second name was Yetunde. My dad saw me as perfect. Anything I did or said was right, even when I myself knew I was wrong. In a nutshell, I was his favorite. When my mum noticed that daddy was treating me like the apple of his eyes, she wasn't taking things easy with me at all. She spanks me at every slight mistake I made, mostly when my dad wasn't at home.Terminé

New town. New identity. Same crazy. I love it!!! (insert enthusiastic voice ) (cough, cough) Not!! I hate it. I hate having to to hide who I am. But to protect the civilians and my new home from being destroyed like my last ones, I have obey the leader's rule. No matter if I do disapprove. But all of that changes when I meet, more like bump into someone who's special. ... DOOR OPENS. "Naomi Satchel!" my mother yells as she comes blaring through the doors. "Yes?" I say as I still lie under the covers. My mother pulls my cover from my body and tosses it on the floor. I quickly sit up in my bed and glare at her. "Get your ass up now you have half an hour left before your first-period starts and you better not be late," she demands. "Mom, this isn't my school. This isn't my home. I don't want to go." I whine and beg my mother at the same time to let me stay home. What was I thinking? My mom has an image to uphold being this perfect mother who loves and cares about her little baby girl. We both know the truth. Until a few years ago, I never even knew she existed. She and my father both agreed to send me here because they couldn't stand the fact that I fell in love with a black boy. Although neither of them would ever admit, that's the only reason why I know of her. I don't want to attend a school where I'm going to have to forsake who I truly am just to fit into their liking. How can I explain that to my mom when she sees everything to be black and white.Terminé
The Monster Amongst Us
When you're little you're surrounded by people that you're supposed to trust and feel safe with. The people God gave you are supposed to protect and nourish you, they're supposed to encourage positive growth, teach you right from wrong. So where along the lines, does an urge so sinister come into the mix? How are you taught to handle dealing with these types of situations, that most people don't have to face in their lifetime? How can anyone then stand by, defending these acts created against an innocent child? Feeling ostracized by every family member or person they have ever had to tell their truth to, some just to defend the monster? How can you then justify this? Love is love right? No matter the cost, right? How about falling in love with someone so manipulative, so deceitful, so evil and cruel, a cold hard liar. Claiming they are a child of God yet disguised as the Devil himself wreaking havoc, trauma and so much hurt and pain on innocent beings?
