What if you committed suicide one day. After just one horrible day that set you off. You know, the bullies and the mean classmates who want to help but don't. And your crush refuses to help you one night. What if another woke up months later with no memory? You don't know who you are, nothing seems familiar. All you know is that something draws you to a boy who died months ago right before school ended. A lot of people care that he is dead, they feel responsible. Another boy catches your attention and you can't help but feel something for him. What if he's the answer to your problem but he won't talk about the dead boy? What if he does? Why do bad things happen to good people? A question that his boy is making himself more then ever this days. From the beginning we see a 17 year old boy, struggling to finish high School, filled up with insecurities, mental health issues, a toxic family home, and impossible standards to live up to. He has learn to not only hate his life, but to want finish it off as fast as possible. Close to finally graduating high school his English teacher, Mr Steve, assigns the class a special progect. "To be able to see life through different eyes, and write about it." For this, Mr Steve gets his class to assist a hospital 3 times a week, and assigns each student, with a patient. This is the moment where this boy meets Royal, a cancer sick 17 year old girl, that has lived in a hospital her hole life, but still finds beauty and meaning in it. Through out the report the boy gets more and more involved in Royal's life, spending unfortunately moments together. But through out the journey he asks himself more and more. "Why do bad things happen to good people?" It's what people remember you saying last and it shouldn't be something stupid which if you get used to saying stupid things, I believe you won't have any control of what you say when you die.
