In the day-to-day trenches of high school, it is almost the default-setting to believe we are the main character of our own coming-of-age story. This is not wrong. It's just ours isn't the only story there is. The jocks, the nerds, the cheerleaders, the losers, the stoners, the fangirls, the skaters. Brooke is a different girl. She was raised in and out of foster homes. Most children raised in and out of foster homes end up working at low-life places their whole life, but Brooke refused to let her situation and how much she hated her life dictate her future and how she could, and would, one day be happy. She worked as hard as should could to keep her perfect grades, and when the time came to apply to colleges, she had so many scholarships that she had everything paid for, even her textbooks. She got into Stanford, and fought hard to get on the Baseball team. Everyone was against it. Girls should be on Softball. So when she goes to tryout for the Yankees, the whole team is against it. Until she hits the ball into the stands. Her essence attracts the guys to her, but they hate the thought of a girl on their team. Eventually, a wonderful guy will enter her life, addicted to her essence and her will and how mesmerizing she is. Will Brooke be able to accept that somebody could actually like her for something other than her looks?

Brooke is a girl with insecurities like any other girl, only her insecurities are about other things than what people think. Their about how she acts and how she is going to finally make her parents proud of her. She first did this when she was very young and her family started to doubt her saying "she is going to be a reckless teenager" "Here we go again another teenager, she might as well just drop out of high school" "We better start saving for when the baby comes" and other things like that. So she built her walls up and started being a different person that who she truly was. Later on she finds herself loosing it. Tired of concealing her feelings. So she starts to let people break down her walls. Who will? She has no idea. Soon she finds herself loving the school bad boy and has no idea on how to handle it. Little does she know that he feels the same way. And it all started when he moved next door.
