Werewolves and vampires rule the world. And both their princes have not found a mate. Girls under the age of 18 have to be 'collected' and hopefully they will find their mates. Cloud hates vamps and werewolves, they killed her family and her older brother.

Shackles dug into my ankles. My overseers tried to get me in a dress, I wouldn't let them. They whipped me, and put it on while I bled. I ripped up the dress and smeared mud on it. Blood also covered the dress. Good. Two guards flank me, guns pointed at me. They do this all day. Guns pointed at me. Probably because I killed a wolf that was a werewolf with my bare hands. I can't help but laugh out loud. Someone punches me in the face, grabbing the whip. I turn and face them and smirk. Two beatings in one day. I chuckle again. The whip hit my back.
