Cielo, the guardian of Sheol (the after life), frees a soul back into the world of the living. Doing so, he has violated one of the laws of the afterlife and is punished. He is sent down to the world of the living and is forced to live a human life for the entire life span, which meant he had to live for at least 30 years before he could return to his place guarding Sheol.

Cielo lives in the body of the soul he set free and coincides with the soul of Sawada Tsunayoshi, whom he set free. When living with his older brother, Giotto, who is destined to become Vongola Neo Primo, it is hard to keep his identity a secret. Especially when a hitman tutor drops by to tutor Giotto.
