"What are you doing here?" he questioned, his voice a husky of depth. "This is reserved land, tourists aren't allowed here."
"W-who are you?"
He wasn't the uniform that the Rangers wore, so I knew he wasn't a part of them. He was a random man. If I wasn't supposed to be out here, then he wasn't either.
He had to be at least a half a foot taller than me. His hair was tousled over his head, in an unmistakable windblown quiff. In the dense lighting of the woods, his eyes were piercing as he looked me over. The confident stance and his muscular body left me feeling overwhelmed. He could be a mass murdered and easily able to overpower me. I didn't know. Just being around left me feeling slightly terrified. He radiated authority and power.
"There are wolves running in these woods, períergi. It's not fairytale. It's real."
"Of course wolves aren't fairytale," I retorted. "They're a protected species by the feds. If you'll point me in the right direction, I'll be going back to the park grounds."
I looked around trying to find the best route of escape. Every angle I turned revealed gleaming gold eyes in the shadows of the woods. It appeared as if a whole pack of wolves had surrounded us. A small whimper escaped my throat as I looked back to him. His eyes darkened slightly as he stared into the distance at the wolves. He stepped forward immediately once again invading my personal space. His nostrils flared briefly before his arms wrapped around me tightly, pulling me into his chest. His head lowered slightly and I felt his chin rest on my head.
"Den tha mas vlápsei. Wolves are social creatures by nature," he said. "You'll get used to being around them. Eláte se mas."
Shock nor horror could describe how I felt. Wolves moved from the shadows into the light. Their muscular lean bodies moved with a lethal grace. They continued coming forward until we were both surrounded. Close enough to us that I felt the breath of two wolves brushing against me.

Forest eyes
I locked eyes with it. Its amber gaze pierced through me, like it could smell my fear. There was something ancient in that gaze, something that stirred an unsettling feeling deep in my gut, a sensation I couldn't quite shake. Its claws scraped against the earth, long and curved, leaving deep marks in the fresh dirt as it moved closer. I could hear its paws thud against the ground, massive and deliberate, each step sending another shock of terror through me. The silence that followed was unnerving, heavy in the air, but then a loud crack shattered the stillness. It came from the forest-close, too close. The beast whipped its head back to the forest, quickly turning his whole body around so I was behind him. The shock from him turning so fast made me stumble a few feet backwards. The ground beneath us seemed to shift as it suddenly lunged forward, its muscles rippling with terrifying power. With one mighty leap, it vaulted over the rotting wooden fence, clearing the barrier effortlessly. The impact of its landing shook the earth beneath my feet. I staggered again, trying to keep my balance as I watched the creature, now free, pause on the other side of the fence. It cocked its head backwards meeting my gaze one final time. Then, without another notice, it darted into the forest, disappearing into the darkness like a shadow swallowed by night. I stood there, my body still trembling, staring at the empty space where the creature had been. The night had swallowed it whole. And though the sounds of the forest returned, soft and distant, the terror of that moment lingered. Was it still out there? Watching? Waiting? My eyes darted back and forth in the forest, trying to see it still hung around. I didn't know, but I couldn't shake the feeling that this encounter, this creature, was only the beginning. I faced the direction of the woods that the movement was coming from. I dug my claws into the ground and lowered myself ready to pounce. Ethan stood the opposite of me, facing the other way. Movement was coming from the other way as well. I could feel his wolf tighten behind me as he got ready to pounce. "Sierra",he softly growled. I didn't say anything as I waited for what he had to say. Birds made noise as they flew over us. Meaning they were getting closer. I left my chest touch the ground and the vibrations of them getting closer were stronger. "If you have my back I have yours",he backs up until our hips are touching. I felt a touch of power from what he said. I eternally chuckle. I felt bad for whatever was coming towards us. A low growl came from the both of us as they were impossibly near. I felt something I hadn't felt in a long time. Although it was something I wasn't used to feeling, I craved it deeply. I felt happy. I felt as if nothing else mattered than this moment. I opened my eyes. Everything seemed clearer. I could see the particles of dust flying in the beam of light that shone around me. I wanted to stay here for longer. I wanted this moment to last forever. Until I saw the wolf. It was hidden among the fold of trees behind me. It stared at me in aggravation. It's brows furrowed in my direction. It's face, livid with anger, revealed a set of unpleasant and sharp teeth. It began to move slightly forward. The wolf bounded towards me. It happened so quickly I had no time to react. It's limbs outstretched. It's teeth bared. My body, paralyzed from fear, refused to move. My lip quivered, urged to call for help, but no help would come. I was too deep into the woods. Bang! I sat bolt upright. Did I imagine that? That noise? What was it? I clambered out of bed and almost fell down the stairs with the panic that had set in. My front door was wide open but nobody was there, the wood was just swinging in the doorway allowing the cool breeze in my house. What if somebody was already inside? I hopped over the living room sofa, to climb the stairs yet again and as I made it to the landing I was thrown into the wall. My body pinned against it with a muscled form shadowing mine. A hand placed over my mouth silenced my screams that I was too scared to let out anyway. "I'm not going to hurt you. Just don't scream." It was Colton. His husky voice was a distinct reminder that he was my mate. The tingles that spread through my body made me hate but love the entire situation. I want him closer. "You don't run away from me, understand?" I nodded, he was really close to me and my wolf purred for him to be closer. I pushed the thoughts to the back of my mind as he slowly removed his hand. "What do you want?" I demanded, making the futile attempt to shove him away though he didn't move an inch. "I want what is mine." He replied with a low growl that sent chills up my spine. My back was still pressed firmly against the wall and I think I was in shock to move. Though I felt safe which made me feel sick, how could I be safe in the presence of him? "No." I walked downstairs and into the kitchen. "No?" He repeated my words back to me and I boiled the kettle for a cup of tea. My mum said tea fixes everything, then again it never fixed her relationship. "You heard me." "I heard you clear. I'm just making sure you're happy with that answer before I make you regret it." Colton advanced forward, pure dread taking over my body at the size of him compared to me. He leaned forward so his lips were against my ear and with a soft tone he whispered. My dream continued the one I'd been having for the past couple of nights. I ran, gasping for breath, through the familiar woods from a dark figure behind me. The faster I tried to run, the slower I seemed to go, until it was like I was running in place. I knew I needed to run. I was terrified of what the figure would do when he caught me. "Mara Leigh," a deep, smooth voice called. It was almost hypnotic. That was new. The figure had never spoke before now. I ran as fast as I could go, eyes searching the forest floor for a big stick or something that I could use to defend myself. "Mara Leigh!" the voice came again, this time more insistent. The forest slowly started to fade and I started to awake to someone shaking my shoulders. "Beau?" I mumbled, turning my head to the side. What's Beau doing in my room this time of night? Why is he shaking me? "Do not call me that name." My eyes flew open as I jumped at the voice from my dream. A face was right in front of mine, and just like the voice, it wasn't Beau. Before I could form a scream, a hand covered my mouth. I tried to bite it but I couldn't get my mouth to open. He's too strong. I started to use my whole body to try to get away, but he crawled on top of me, holding me down. I pulled the hidden knife out from under my pillow and slashed as hard as I could at him, but he just grabbed my wrist and squeezed it until the pain made me drop the knife. Then he grabbed both my hands in one of his and held them over my head. He held me down while I struggled. I grunted and moved and tried to kick and scream, but I only wore myself out. Exhausted, I stopped thrashing and let the tears flow freely down my cheeks. I didn't know what to do, so I just tried to prepare myself for whatever was coming.Lengkap
