Aria Conley and her brother Chris went missing four years ago straight off the streets of Brooklyn on the way home from a party. The city was captivated by the story; news crews were always reporting updates, even after eight months when the world began to lose hope. Just a tip, a sign, anything that could possibly lead to the twins discovery would benefit a case without leads.

Eight months.

The police couldn't waste resources any longer.

Four years later, Aria finds herself in the director's chair of Return, the largest private investigative company in the United States.

But Return was just a hobby, just something to do to circumvent all the fury clouding her thoughts. The job gave her a purpose- one she assumed could benefit the world until it becomes apparent an outside force is working to bring her company to its knees.

Desperate to save Return, Aria juggles the search for her older brother's missing girlfriend, a faceless intruder with a personal grudge that extends as far as threatening the lives of those she loves, and the appearance of a painfully familiar presence- the boy who left her life just as she started to step back into it.

In return, the company demands an unusual form of settlement: the CEO responsible must marry their CEO until the debt is cleared. To protect Aria, their parents make a secret decision. The kiss stirs something in her, something painfully familiar. And when she finally meets her husband, Darren Blackwood, she's stunned. He looks familiar-too familiar-but she can't place him. As days pass, memories from eight years ago start surfacing. Clues hidden in the house, songs, and gestures slowly unravel the truth: Darren is the man who once loved her and vanished from her life. The heartbreak returns-but so does the spark. Their love story reignites, beginning with slow trust and deep emotion. But Aria, full of jealousy and rage, isn't done. She wages a subtle war to tear them apart, using lies and manipulation to destroy Alina's newfound happiness. . On the day her twin sister "died," or that what she thought everything she knew shattered. She remembered the scream, the fall, the blood-and then the world changed. In the chaos, no one asked her what really happened. They didn't care to hear her version. Her parents, once the warmth in her world, turned cold overnight. The brothers who loved her most began to look at her like a monster. Whispers filled the house. Accusations behind closed doors. She was blamed, judged, and punished-not by strangers, but by her own blood. And then, without warning, they sent her away. A boarding school in another country, they said, as if it were for her own good. But it wasn't a school-it was a cage dressed in discipline. Far from home, far from love, she entered a place no child should ever be. Hidden behind iron gates and smiling lies, that school was a breeding ground for cruelty. Every corner held secrets. Every night was a nightmare. And no one ever came looking for her. Not a single letter. Not a single call. They forgot her- Years passed. . And then came the call. Her family wanted her to return. As if they still had the right to call her back. But the girl who left never came back-not really. What returns now is someone colder, quieter, sharper. She tells herself she feels nothing for them. That she's learned to live without love. That hatred is easier than hope. But buried beneath the years and pain, there is still a small voice inside her-a child's voice-aching to be believed, to be seen, to be forgiven for a crime she never committed. Will her family finally face what they've done? And when the truth comes out-will it set her free, or break her all over again?

There are men who kill for power. Others who kill for survival. And then there are the ones who kill for love-and call it mercy. Ethan Vance was never corrupted. He was created. Forged in backroom deals and blood-soaked loyalty, he walked away from the law long before he broke it. Now, he's a shadow in the city's criminal hierarchy-answering only to the silent kings who rule from behind bulletproof glass and gold-plated promises. His name isn't on paper. His crimes don't make headlines. But when something needs to disappear, Ethan is the last thing it sees. Aria Blake was supposed to be untouchable. A rising officer with an incorruptible spine, she's tasked with investigating the force's connection to organized crime. She thought she was prepared for what she'd find. She wasn't prepared for Ethan. He doesn't lure her-he dismantles her. Slowly. Quietly. With the patience of a man who knows how to break things without leaving bruises. He tells her lies so carefully wrapped in truth she doesn't know she's falling. Until it's too late. As Aria descends into his world-where love is leverage and silence is survival-she begins to unravel everything she believed about right and wrong. Because Ethan doesn't offer her safety. He offers her clarity. He offers her a cage lined in velvet and fire. She tries to resist. He never gives her the chance. Because Ethan doesn't chase. He consumes. And when the bodies start piling, and the lines blur between justice and betrayal, Aria has to ask herself: Is she still undercover, or already claimed? This is not romance. It's obsession dressed in charm. A slow-burn disintegration of two people bound by secrets, and doomed by desire. Some love stories save you. This one buries you.
