In a world where magic is all too common, those without magic are heavily discriminated against. Ava Blanchien is one of those humans lacking magic and she grew up with her entire village hating her. Her one solace was a kindly old woman who told her tales of the dragons that lived long ago. However, these tales soon prove themselves to be true and Ava is dragged to a new home with them. The dragons who live in the land of Chimor are much more rare than they used to be and they're having trouble rebuilding their numbers. More so, the humans of Chimor grew up on tales of their ferocity and anger, learning to do nothing but hate and fear their species.
