The hardest part of it all was moving to a new flat, or so thought Jess when she had arrived to the building, with thin paper walls, and incredibly loud noise coming from either side of her apartment. Jess had no problem with it, at first. It was sort of okay to hear her neighbours from downstairs complain about the lack of vegetables they had, or when her neighbour across her apartment read aloud Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet with metal music in the background. It was -in a way- awful, but Jess had found the way to block the sounds by buying a TV, and plugging her headphones in.

But what happens when she buys such a cheap TV that after some weeks it breaks down, and her headphones were suddenly drenched in vanilla ice-cream from the day before?

"No." My older brother Archer grabbed me by the wrist and practically dragged me to the door leading to the basement. "I'm not going down there!" "This has worked before." "You've left a girl and a guy in Dad's basement before?!" Archer only smirked and said, "Trust me on this." The problem here was that I did NOT trust him. Archer opened the door, letting it fly open away from him. "Enjoy, lil' sis." He gave me a small shove and I fell down the row of stairs, stopping at the bottom. The basement door shut and locked behind me. "Are you okay? What are you doing down here?" Calum's voice said. ..a short story where a girl gets stuck in her dad's basement with her crush from school, Calum Hood.
