Annabella's mother left when she was 13, her oldest sister ran away when she was 14, and her older sister died last year. When the final bell of school marks the start of summer, Annabella is greeted with dreaded silence and boring hours at the local laundromat. But then everything changes, she tries to solve the mystery of Jared-who reminds her so much of someone she knows, she confronts the dilemmas of her past, and then, there's Westin.
