I knew what was coming later tonight, not only at home, but on the way there. I knew that reacting right now would just make it worse though. So I kept quiet and pretended that I was not dreading when I would be alone with the man that stood beside me, wondering when it became so normal to do so. Jason and Alicia have the perfect relationship from the outside looking in, but Alicia has kept her wounded spirit and body hidden well. After another one of Jason's violent rages that is impossible to hide, Alicia is finally able to get away from the abuse though. In the process of healing, she begins to relearn what trust, compassion, and safety are once again - that is, until Jason discovers her whereabouts. As we go through life, we meet people who deeply touch our hearts and change us in meaningful ways. They leave lasting marks on our souls, transforming who we are. The footprints they leave behind guide us towards growth, ensuring we can never retrace our steps to the person we once were. And then, there was him. We found each other at the precise moment when our souls were ready to collide. Love enveloped us, and in his arms, I discovered a deep sense of belonging. Everything felt right, as if the universe had conspired to bring us together. But life has a way of unraveling even the most beautiful stories. In a cruel twist of fate, the ground beneath us began to crumble. The very thing that had given us hope and joy now carried the weight of our lives, feelings, and emotions, threatening to snatch them all away. Will Asa and the boy she loves with all her heart, stay together? This story contains topics such as self-harm, eating disorders, abusive parents, sexual assault. If you don't feel comfortable with these topics, do not read this AND THERE'S NO SMUT! So sorry if you don't enjoy this book or the writing of this story, i started this in 2023 april i wanted to make something specific with mental health and things might not make sense in what i wrote but i still hope you do enjoy it!! Hurt and frightened and no where to turn except for my journal. Curse words being streamed at me and you would have thought I had a father for a sailor. ~E.M.C Many poems focusing on the subject of Mental Illness, that many suffer with and the subject just isn't brought up enough. Poems focusing on a day in the shoes of a person with a mental illness and how some even ordinary simple tasks may seem not so simple to them. There may be some uplifting poems but also raw ones filled with real emotions, things I've experienced. \\ Notes from me the poet: Some aren't all poems I guess you could say but these are my feelings and maybe some of you can relate :) feel free to comment or message me with any questions, feedback or suggestions I greatly appreciate anything!

There are a lot of things you don't really think about until they happen to you. Take rape, for instance. I always thought, "That won't happen to me. I have a boyfriend. I trust him. He would never take advantage of me like that..." I couldn't have been more wrong. Love in this day and age is often confused for manipulation and abuse. The warning signs are here. The things we say will tell us everything that is wrong. You are worth more than what you think you are. It's not your fault. If they tell you otherwise, get out. Burn the bridge. Always remember someone is waiting for you to walk into their life. Someone needs you. Someone loves you. Getting away from all of the wrong people and finding the right ones could save you. I can promise you right now that it saved me. These are the journal entries and selected poems from my first experience of love that left a unpleasant taste in my mouth- quite literally. I am putting this out for the whole world to see because I hope everyone will learn from my experience. People can see. We have no excuses to continue living our lives in ignorance. ...WARNING... This is the story of an abused teenage girl, Maddie. Her need to die has become overwhelming and she is trying to find a way to help herself before she does something she may regret. The story is told from her point of view as she recalls all that has happened to her. Maybe telling her story will help her, maybe not. This isn't just any other sob story. This is more realistic. You may even find yourself comparing your life to Maddie's while reading this story. Disclosure: I wrote this as a 13-year-old and the writing is definitely not up to my current standards, but I feel as though changing what I have already written would take away from the emotion I put into this story at 13 years old. If you'd like an updated and more well-written version, please read my other story entitled "Remembering".
