Basil hardly has any positive emotions. She feels the pain that is dealt to her and she feels sorrow towards abandoned pets. However, towards humans themselves, she feels fear of what they can do. She doesn't know what it's like to be loved or to be in love. She's a broken girl who tries as hard as she can to live.
Nicholas is the school's bad boy. He is strong, good looking and bullies Basil. He has parents who love him, a sister who adores him and girls who want to get in his pants. But he's not satisfied. He feels that there is something that is missing from his life.
What will happen between these two? Will they end up together or will they hate each other?
