For years, humans have wanted to become something... more. At last, scientists have finally found a way to artificially evolve humans into humanoid creatures or mythological beings. Finally, the long dream of humanity has been achieved, but at what cost? We join Ieuan Blasdel, a fifteen-year-old former home-school student entering his first year in public school. After encountering students who mock Ieuan for being "Pure", Ieuan realizes his home-school knowledge isn't going to get him far in high school, especially with so many students who have volunteered to artificially evolve. Under his older brother's guidance, Ieuan begins to learn the secrets of public school, but something far more sinister than high school bullies is developing, which could affect Ieuan and those around him. ----- Not even twenty-four hours after being published, this story is #849 in Science Fiction.
