Dream has been a selective mute for a few years now after a certain incident. The list of people hes comfortable talking to is small, and does not include one of his best friends, George. And, hes losing his connection with Dream. Yet hes still panicking. As he starts to fall into a deep state of depression, he hears a knock at his door. "Who could that be" George groans as he walks across the cold, hard floor to the door. As he twists the handle, it creaks. Shock freezes his whole body. "Dream?!" Trigger Warnings throughout the book include - Panic attacks, anxiety attacks, vomiting, passing out, suicidal thoughts, attempt suicide, rude language, and physical violence.

"Hi, uh...George." The customer grins, reading George's nametag. He's American. George isn't exactly sure how he feels about that. His flatmate is American. But his voice itself, he feels almost certain about. It makes wedding bells, alarm bells, fucking school bells, whatever-some type of bells go off in his head. Though exactly how, George isn't sure. spoiler alert: he's a famous actor named dream. george, an employee at a small london bookshop, sells him a book, and they run into each other again, exchanging numbers. as they get to know each other through spilled apple juice, meddling friends, and the watching eyes of the entire world, they learn how to love-or make their best attempt at it, anyway.
