In wolf country there stands a legend as old as time. A tale of a moon goddess and long lost mates, of betrayal and gifts. The story being told for generation and generations on the night of the blue moon which occurs every three years.
Every member of any pack in wolf country holds on to the tradition of a elder reciting this legend of the first mated pair to any child that has turned fourteen with in those three years. That's when the moon goddess is said to create their mate connection and their hunt for their other half begins.
Tonight was one of those nights. I would sit around the bond fire listening to the elder recite the legend and pray to the moon goddess and then I would feel a pull to find my mate so we could begin forever. It would be like any other blue moon.
Or so I thought.
Instead of forever I got rejected , died, met a goddess, and my belly button started glowing.

The moon goddess created the creatures of the night. Everyone of them shine at night. A creature who can transform in form of a wolf. A creature who has a beauty and an immortal life. In order to have a balance, the moon goddess make a pair for each individual. A gift from what other call it. They call it mate. When a certain creature step in a right age, it can find it's mate. The two creature live peacefully. But it didn't last as a war break the alliance of the two creature. The moon goddess have nothing to do but just to look at her own creation fighting for dominance. Excerpt only: I quickly run in their direction as my claws elongate into fierce points. I watch as a man in all black strikes down and kills one of the innocent packless men before turning to another. I make a flying leap to attack and am suddenly hit with a strong, overwhelming scent of vanilla and citrus. "Mate!" My wolf yells in my head. My conviction evaporates and confusion hits me, but I don't have time to think about what this means. But there can be such darkness hidden in that dynamic. Even those of cruel hearts can seek the power of a mate. And the damage they cause might not ever be healed. ***** Prologue: Drip. Drip. Drip.
