In wolf country there stands a legend as old as time. A tale of a moon goddess and long lost mates, of betrayal and gifts. The story being told for generation and generations on the night of the blue moon which occurs every three years.
Every member of any pack in wolf country holds on to the tradition of a elder reciting this legend of the first mated pair to any child that has turned fourteen with in those three years. That's when the moon goddess is said to create their mate connection and their hunt for their other half begins.
Tonight was one of those nights. I would sit around the bond fire listening to the elder recite the legend and pray to the moon goddess and then I would feel a pull to find my mate so we could begin forever. It would be like any other blue moon.
Or so I thought.
Instead of forever I got rejected , died, met a goddess, and my belly button started glowing.
