"Egypt, just stop." I grab onto his shoulders and move his head until he is looking at me.
"You are my haven, Egypt. Every time I hold you, touch you, heck even look at you I know everything is going to turn out okay because I have you. I have you right here by my side." My voice cracks and I squeeze him into a fierce hug.
I bury my face into his neck and kiss his mark.
"But I'm broken" he whispers sadly and I pull away to hold his lovely face.
I ache to take away every moment he had to endure with that monster. I would do anything for us to have been able to trade places when it happened. Why couldn't I have been there to protect him?
I look back down to my beautiful love and wipe away his tears.
"Then you're my broken haven."
