Lila and Larken's relationship is made from their own angst and raw lust. Trying to survive the rest of high school and not losing yourself is a hard task and so is fulfilling the title your parents gave you. Lila and Larken face the horrors of becoming their own person together as they not only hurt themselves, but everyone around them. Lila loved the rain. She loved how the sky grew dark and the air smelled clean and empty. She liked the cool breeze on her skin. Rainy days had always put her in a better mood. She didn't particularly hate warm weather, it felt soft and nice on her skin for awhile, but after a few minutes, it was suffocating, she felt like her she couldn't breathe. She felt like there was a thick heavy wool blanket on top of her that she couldn't find the end of and escape. So, Lila loved the rain, and she loved it now, as she sat alone on her front porch. Larken loved the rain. He thought it was magical. He could breathe better and with more oxygen to his brain, he could think more clearly. Before he had moved here, Larken lived in New York City. He loved it there and missed it terribly, but something about this place was enchanting. It was a small town and it was kind of dirty but not as filthy as New York was. The buildings were all old and faded into pastel grays. The grass was green or brown, depending where you were walking and Lila lived here. *This story is unedited and contains errors.
