Dan is a young prince. He lives in the confinement of his castle walls, spending his days reading and listening to the local street bands, opening his window just a crack so the melodic tunes can reach his ears. He is constantly scolded for missing his knight training classes, but longs desperately for something other than fighting. His Father wants him to grow into the king he was destined to be the moment he was born. He doesn't want to marry the young girl his father picked out for him when he was 8 summers old. He doesn't want the whole kingdom at his every beck and call. He wants to be a writer. His dream is to write beautiful, twisted tales, capturing perfectly the essence of loneliness and fear, whilst tying in a fight or two to keep the audience entertained. He longs to see his name on the banner at the market, when the book stall holds the best selling book of the year event and all that is on sale is the winner. He fantasises of his name being passed around the library in hushed whispers and the villages in loud, excited shouts. In an attempt to realise his dreams, he flees the kingdom, passing into the rivaling competitor. He disguises himself as a peasant boy, falling into village life when he is taken in as an orphan by a loving family. But what will happen when he starts to fall for the boy who doesn't talk? All Rights Reserved
