Karma Akabane can't help but to grow bored of his mundane life. From causing ruckus on campus and out, he can't seem to catch a break. One day, a new transfer student, Nagisa Shitoa joins  Kunugigaoka High school as a Level E student. 
Truth be told, Nagisa is a government agent residing in the assassination division. While his task is to blend in with the rest of the students, his mission is to assassinate #5478, known as Karma Akabane. 

With Nagisa's talent for killing unbeatable, Karma seems to be his first prey worth the struggle.
