A Newtmas AU, in which the maze was all a dream that happened in Newt's head as he recovered from a fall that he had hoped would end his life. He's sent to a mental health ward where he meets people he'd never have thought would become his family, his friends, or his lover.

I was out for a bit, and no one bothered to continue counting the days. We've been here for... I don't know, weeks? Months? Probably years. The maze is a living thing, always shifting and changing, and I swear I heard it breathe. We've lost a few to the labyrinth, and the others are getting quieter. There aren't many chapters, but each has an average of 1,457 words per chapter (including the prologue), and a total number of 13,068 words in the whole book. It's not a lot, but it's worth a read :). Newt's suicide attempt still happened, but he fully healed from his injuries.
