Taking place in a familiar, yet slightly different universe, Talent/Power records the emergence of the "Powered", a new class of citizens recognizable only by the unique tattoos on their wrists. Soon after their discovery, the Talented Against Terrorism Division (T.A.T.D.) is created to make use of these new pseudo-superheroes. The story centers on Alfie Arle, a recently-outed teenager who has known for most of his life that he was Powered, despite only being a recent recruit to the T.A.T.D. However, even in that context he has always managed to feel "out of place" in some way. After all, he wasn't raised as one of the Powered elites - he attended a normal middle school and high school in New York, raised by the supportive yet mysterious Uncle Carlos. After recruitment, he realizes that his power - or seemingly lack thereof - also makes him "out of place." In a world of fantastical abilities and talents, the unclear effects of his powers allow others to look down upon him. Regardless, Alfie is content; he never questions these differences, and accepts them as factors outside of his control. It takes several new experiences of dangerous missions and even more dangerous people to wake him from his blissful ignorance. A mix of new friendships, unlikely romances, and revelations about his own dubious origins surface as Alfie unravels the past he never knew existed. Along the way, he will slowly come to realize that being "out of place" is in some ways, a Talent. But in order to secure his newfound future, he must first acquire what seems to dodge him at every step: Power.

Lufi Muhamad, an insomniac college dropout with mild anxiety, opens up a Tattoo Parlor right across the street from a small Flower Shop. The day after opening, he finds a bouquet on the doorstep of his parlor. He looks across the street and sees a blue-eyed boy with dirty blonde hair opening the flower shop, and something within him stirs. Deimos Alexander, a hyper ADHD 20-year-old, was shocked when he realized that a new business had opened up across the street. He looked in the window and saw (In his best friend's words) an "Emo in the wild" tattooing someone. He makes a bouquet for him and places it on his porch step. He almost dropped his coffee the following day when he saw an oil pastel drawing on his welcome mat from the tattoo artist. Trigger Warning: While this book is a majority fluff there are a few angsty bits that face some grim topics including child abuse, dangerous parents, alcohol abuse, homophobia, transphobia, and harassment. This story includes quite a bit of swearing as well (blame my trucker dad for that) so viewer discretion is advised. No Smut whatsoever in this book. (I love y'all but I'm not putting my ace ass through that torture) If you have an idea for a cute date between characters, a friend group excursion, etc. please comment. I will either try to incorporate it in the story itself or make a oneshot book. NOTE: There is no specific schedule. While I will try and update once a week I am still in school and I'm both a part of the theater program and dance team so updates might be inconsistant.
