Kelsey Johnson is a perfectly not-normal girl who was born in New York City. Her parents sent her to live with her Uncle John from when she was in preschool and all the way up through fourth grade. Much too busy to take care of your daughter for seven years, so why not just send her away to her uncle, right? But Kelsey was perfectly content with Uncle John's cabin in the woods, with no electricity or toilets, and a good hunting dog named Gizmo. Every weekday morning, Uncle John walked Kelsey to the bus stop with Gizmo, a walking distance of exactly 47 minutes and 28 seconds(timed on Uncle John's watch). He would always say "I love you to Pluto and back," whenever she climbed onto the bus. But, a week before sixth grade, Kelsey's parents take her back to New York City before her baby brother is born, and she hears Uncle John say "I love you to Pluto and back," for the last time. Four years later, the Johnsons are parking their limousine(or actually Mr. Gibson, their one-eyed limo driver, is), readying for a hike to pay Uncle John a visit. What could go wrong?
