Warren has never known who his parents were. That is until he gets a visit from a couple telling him they knew his parents and that they died but now the couple need Warren's help. Warren's mother and father were two of the best spies/assassins in the world, they died on an op and nobody ever knew they had a son. But now his parent’s old company is in trouble and he's the only one that can help but he doesn't know how. Warren grew up moving from foster home to foster home until he was fifteen and had enough, then he ran away and lived on the streets for a year before he was picked up by Mickey Connor, infamous gangster and all round bad guy. Warren has severed his ties to the gang but they aren't happy about it and are determined to get him back, any way they can. Now add the problem of having to look over his shoulder for enemy assassins and his life just got that much more complicated.

Helen's parents demand that she marry the man they've chosen for her or be disowned. She chooses to be disowned. But that isn't good enough for them. They make sure that she either doesn't get jobs or they make sure that she gets fired from them. She loses her apartment and all her things do to them. They are sure that she'll give in and marry the man they've chosen rather than live on the streets. But then again, they've never really paid much attention to their daughter unless they wanted something from her. Helen would rather live on the streets and eat out of garbage dumpsters then return to her parents and marry the man that would make her life a living hell. At least on the streets she's free. She might starve or freeze to death but she'll be free. Then one day three men come after her, intent on forcing her and beating her for what little she has. Before one of them does more than grab her arm the three are gone. Helen looks down and finds them on the ground with their hearts torn out of the bodies. She looks at the person that did that in horror but then her sight goes black.
