Just before episode four ends, Jefferson decides to kidnap both Max and Chloe.
Knowing how close they are he decides to destroy two youths at once by letting Chloe witness her own friend in pain and humiliation.

Dual POV This story starts off right after Max made the choice to sacrifice Arcadia Bay, leaving only her and Chloe as survivors. Without anywhere else to go, the duo hit the open road, desperate to run away from their past. Life is hard, and over the next few years, the weight of their consequences slowly start to affect her and Chloe's lives mentally and emotionally. Although she still has her powers, Max promised Chloe never to use them, but that doesn't stop the brunette from slipping up, especially when true danger presents itself which is more often than not. At first, she can't stand her roommate but Max soon falls for the rough and rowdy punk youth but must keep her feelings to herself since Chloe is in a relationship with a not so faithful Rachael Amber. Warren Graham, a boy Max thought to be 'just a friend', seems to want something that's clearly not there. Torn between being honest with her friend and herself, Max must make a difficult decision. Life is Strange: Reunion is a post-Life is Strange: True Colors adventure, telling the story of Max and Chloe (Pricefield) and Steph and Alex (Chenrich). One year after the events of True Colors, Max and Chloe embark on a road trip across the U.S. and find themselves in Haven Springs, Colorado. There, Chloe and Steph reunite for the first time since 2010 (the events of Before the Storm). Then, something bizarre happens: Steph and Chloe share a dream that feels eerily realistic. Is this just a figment of their imaginations, or did Max, somehow, create another alternative reality? The four of them must work together to determine what's real and what's imaginary, using both Max's and Alex's powers to unravel the mystery. (As usual: this is a work in progress.) The 'Funko Style' Pricefield and Chenrich characters are my own drawings, with the LiS logo and [original concept art] BtS logo.
