After the Districts rebelled, the Capitol torn apart and it's President dead: It was decided there would be one last Hunger Games. The children of the Capitol would be sent into the arena as revenge for the 75 years of suffering and pain inflicted upon every district member before the revolution. This story is told in the point of view of Thalia Leopris, a misunderstood Capitol child who always disliked the Capitol ways... hating the Mockingjay just as much. Now her family is dead and she is forced into the final games she must find a way to not only survive but to make sure everyone else does too.

The Mockingjay Died: The Fourth Quarter Quell
When the laws of the Hunger Games were laid out, they dictated that every twenty-five years the anniversary would be marked by a Quarter Quell. It would call for a glorified version of the Games to make the fresh the memory of those killed by the districts' rebellion. Now we honor our fourth Quarter Quell. On the one hundredth anniversary, as a reminder to the rebels that the Dark Days only served to tear their families apart, each district will be required to send two sets of siblings. The new government that came with the rebellion Katniss started has been overthrown. President Snow's granddaughter is ruling Panem now, and she has proven to be more ruthless than he ever was. Katniss and Peeta were publicly executed after the Capitol took over again, and District 13 was completely obliterated. Since then, the Hunger Games have been harsher than ever. Before the District 12 volunteer there was a stupid little tribute from 10.Before the 74th Hunger Games there was the 69th. My Hunger Games.My name is Aria Moulson and I won the 69th Hunger Games 6 years ago. I was the first Mockingjay. Trust me I never wanted to be. I never wanted to start a rebellion I just wanted to get in and out. But, the people of Panem had a different idea. They saw me as the light in the darkness. They saw me as their way out of President Snow's wrath. They saw me as their Mockingjay. Why they saw me as the Mockingjay? It was because I was the first tribute to ever speak out about the Capitol's tyranny. A moment of weakness in the games and it cost me a lifetime of pain and suffering. As we all know, District 10 doesn't have that many Victors. However, 18 year old Jackson won't be one of the District 10 tributes to fail when being in the arena. Years after he wins, he mentors the male tribute from 10 during the 74th Games, and a year after that, he participates in the 75th Games and is killed on day two. Suzie is just a normal girl from district 2 whos family has died because of the cruel Capitol, and all she wants is to do is be with them again. She figures the best way to finally be with her family again is to volunteer for the hunger games. Then someone else could kill her and she wouldn't have to kill herself. Also her father was in the games and she wanted to make him proud. So she comes up with a plan to go around all the districts gathering different types of skills and once she gets back to district 2 she will volunteer. Making her father proud was the thing she loved to do the most. Her father was her idol. But she doesnt have to volunteer. Suzie Timmer thought she would never get chosen at the reaping because she is not apart of any of the districts except district 2. But the Capitol figures out her plan, they figure out what she has been doing, so they purposly pull her name out at the reaping in district 4...
